Page 324- Gauri Kabeer ji- ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥ Says Kabeer, one who contemplates God, ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੭॥ is said to be a Brahmin among us. ||4||7|| Page 512- Gujri Mahala 3- ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦੇ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥ One who understands God, who lovingly centers his mind on the Lord night and day, is called a Brahmin. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਛੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਏ ॥ Consulting the True Guru, he practices Truth and self-restraint, and he is rid of the disease of ego. Page 662- Dhanasaree Mahala 1- ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੋ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥ He alone is a Yogi, who understands the Way. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ By Guru's Grace, he knows the One Lord. ਕਾਜੀ ਸੋ ਜੋ ਉਲਟੀ ਕਰੈ ॥ He alone is a Qazi, who turns away from the world, ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ॥ and who, by Guru's Grace, remains dead while yet alive. ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥ He alone is a Brahmin, who contemplates God. ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੩॥ He saves himself, and saves all his generations as well. ||3|| ਦਾਨਸਬੰਦੁ ਸੋਈ ਦਿਲਿ ਧੋਵੈ ॥ One who cleanses his own mind is wise. ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੁ ਸੋਈ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਵੈ ॥ One who cleanses himself of impurity is a Muslim. ਪੜਿਆ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ One who reads and understands is acceptable. ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਕਾ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੫॥੭॥ Upon his forehead is the Insignia of the Court of the Lord. ||4||5||7|| Page 1398- Sawaiyye Mahaley 4 Ke, Bhatt Kalh- ਜਨਕੁ ਸੋਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਰਥੁ ਧਰਿਆ ॥ He alone is enlightened like Janaka, who links the chariot of his mind to the state of ecstatic realization. ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਮਾਚਰੇ ਅਭਰਾ ਸਰੁ ਭਰਿਆ ॥ He gathers in truth and contentment, and fills up the empty pool within. ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਅਮਰਾ ਪੁਰੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ He speaks the Unspoken Speech of the eternal city. He alone obtains it, unto whom God gives it. ਇਹੁ ਜਨਕ ਰਾਜੁ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਬਣਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੧੩॥ O Guru Ram Das, Your sovereign rule, like that of Janak, is Yours alone. ||13||
